Over the last few months, we have noticed several photos featuring a gray fox with a variety of different prey and food sources.  In the photos below, a gray fox (we cannot determine for certain if this is the same individual) walks by with a full mouth each time!

July 3, 2016: Gray fox carrying rattlesnake

The gray fox is a omnivorous, solitary hunter, usually preying on rodents and rabbits.  Fruit is also an important component of the diet of the gray fox and they seek whatever fruits are readily available, such as berries.  Coyote scat can often be identified because it contains visible berries.
